Inside a sterile, almost disciplinary space – which could be a cell, a public restroom, or simply a psychological descent – a red armchair intrudes paradoxically: vivid, warm, out of place. The familiar becomes foreign. The space no longer serves any function. On the contrary, the sense of abandonment and uncanniness strips away any possibility of safety. The work belongs to the series Ataxia, a visual contemplation on the fragile structure of memory, experience, and inner order. Just as memories surface disconnected and often unexpectedly, so too do objects from different worlds coexist here in a scene that seems to touch the subconscious. Ataxia is not presented as a deficiency, but as the in-between state from which meaning, truth, or revelation may emerge.
